Position Summary

Rally House is seeking a District Manager to join our growing team.  The primary role of the District Manager is to provide leadership, management, and supervision of the store operations of multiple store locations within an assigned market. The District Manager will plan, implement and follow up on all initiatives and processes within the market. Driving sales and profitability while ensuring the customer experience meets company standards will be the main responsibiilty of a District Manager. This position is responsible for teaching, coaching, and training leadership in the stores to ensure compliance with operational systems and visual standards. The District Manager will help in fostering a positive in-store-culture with a focus on the customer experience, associate development and exceeding sales goals while controlling expenses. Rally House's Corporate Office is located in Lenexa, KS.

Duties and Responsibilities

Financial:

  • Drive and maximize district sales to achieve goals.
  • Control labor within guidlines by approving all weekly schedules.
  • Take appropriate actions to insure each store maximizes sales, minimizes asset loss, and conforms to budgetary requirements.
  • Drive corporate initiatives with a focus on goal attainment and expense control.
  • Analyzes financial data to build on strengths, support weak areas and note any unusual occurrences.
  • Train Store Managers in recognizing and influencing their business by understanding reports and acting on the knowledge.

Leadership:

  • Foster a positive work environment that encourages feedback and innovation.
  • Motivate leaders and associates to achieve their maximum potential.
  • Communicate both verbally and in writing with all associates, peers, supervisors and corporate office.
  • Conducts store visits to ensure compliance, train, and provide feedback on store operations.
  • Plans, identifies, communicates and delegates key responsibilities and practices to the store management team to ensure smooth flow of operations within the district.
  • Communicate in a clear, positive and professional manner designed to educate, inspire, motivate and direct behavior of all store level personnel.
  • Drives the implementation of company programs by motivating and supporting the store management team within the district to develop and implement action plans that meet operational and organizational objectives.
  • Reviews store environments and key business indicators within the district to identify problems, concerns, and opportunities for improvement in order to provide coaching to the store management team to take action and achieve operational goals.

Management:

  • Demonstrate ability to plan and prioritize Company objectives.
  • Properly manage time to ensure all are achieved.
  • Effectively organize resources and communications to maximize personal and district performance.
  • Supervise Store Managers through planning, assigning, and directing their overall functions.

Selling Skills:

  • Establish, teach, and demonstrate exceptional selling behaviors.
  • Provide associates the tools necessary to ensure an active selling culture is in the stores through training, development and role play.
  • Provide positive resolutions to challenges and complaints from customers.

Visual Presentation:

  • Supervise stores to ensure Company standards for visual presentation, signage, cleanliness and organization are maintained.
  • Responsible for the overall leadership, visual merchandising and display presentation, fixture layout, and visual operation within an assigned district.
  • Conduct store visits to drive a consistent execution among stores and ensure that directives are read/interpreted in a consistent manner; utilize Store Visit Guides to provide feedback on overall store experience.

Store Operations:

  • Utilize all available tools to supervise stores ensuring compliance with all policies and procedures.
  • Supervise stores to achieve accuracy in all operational best practices.
  • Ensure stores follow all safely standards to safeguard the working and shopping environment.
  • Communicate consistently with store personnel to insure understanding and compliance with standard operating procedures.

Employee Relations:

  • Recruit, develop, and retain qualified leaders and associates to ensure staffing needs are consistently met.
  • Utilize company training tools to fully develop associate potential.
  • Coach, confront, and counsel leaders and associates to improve performance.
  • Train leaders and store associates on standard operating procedures.
  • Assess subordinates on positive performance and assist with formal performance evaluations.
  • Administer the progressive steps of discipline to include verbal and written warnings.
  • Interact regularly with all levels of store staff to gain insight on store morale and to gain suggestions from the store level on operational efficiencies and customer experience.

Qualifications

  • Minimum of 3-5 years Store Management experience with a focus in fashion apparel and with proven results
  • At least 2-3 years of multi-store retail management experience required with a focus on fashion apparel
  • College degree preferred
  • Strong networking, recruiting, training, visual merchandising and operational skills
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills with stores, executive management and corporate office
  • Strong aptitude for interpreting retail data and applying solutions as problems arise
  • Ability to adapt to change and assume added responsibilities
  • Proven track record of driving and maximize sales goals, while controlling shrink and payroll
  • Foster a positive and motivating work environment, encouraging feedback and innovation
  • Have established, taught, and demonstrated exceptional customer service through training, development and lead by example in a specialty retail environment
